What is Blood Cancer ? Cancer which attacks the lymphatic system, blood or bone marrow, is called blood cancer. The ability of both generation and platelets is affected by the blood tumor. Blood Cancer Stages Stage 1: In the first stage, lymph nodes are increased; Cancer does not spread in other parts of the body Stage 2: The presence of enlarged spleen and liver with lymph nodes can be seen in the second phase. Both the liver and the spleen may not be affected, but at least one of the lymph nodes will be affected. Step 3: Development of anemia can be seen in the third phase. Liver, spleen and lymph nodes can remain swollen. In the third stage of the development of cancer, two or more organs are possible to be affected. Step 4: A sharp decline in blood platelets can be seen in the last phase of blood cancer. Lung can also be affected in the last phase of cancer development. At this stage, acute anemia appears Diagnosis of Blood Cancer Several tests are done to diagnose blood cancer, including - Blood test: Blood tests are determined by the number of specific blood cells. Chest X-ray: This X-ray liver helps in determining the presence of lymph nodes, bone loss or tumor presence in the bone marrow. Biopsy: The presence of cancer cells while biopsy is determined by taking a sample of bone marrow. This can be done through the aspiration of a bone needle biopsy or bone marrow. Spinal tap: Some amount of clear fluid is taken around the spinal cord and brain. This test is done to check the presence of cancer cells. Physical examination: Swelling lymph nodes can be determined with the help of this test. The development of tumor in the bone marrow or damage to the bone can also be determined with the help of a physical examination. Urine test: A high level of protein known as Brian Jones protein is determined by taking urine samples. Some specific cancers have high levels of protein Cytogenetics : Changes in genetic material are determined by this test. Treatment of Blood Cancer The treatment of leukemia blood cancer is very complicated. Treatment of leukemia depends not only on its type, but also depends on factors such as leukemia cells, leukemia cells and the amount of disease. This treatment also depends on other factors such as general health, symptoms, and patient's age. There are three options for blood cancer treatment, including - Bone marrow transplant: In this treatment process, cancer cells are destroyed by using a large dose of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Bone marrow transplant, called stem cell transplantation, is transferred to the damaged bone marrow with healthy bone marrow stem cells. In this process, healthy stem cells are taken from one person's bone marrow and then they are taken into another person's bone marrow.
